The history of Crosley Radio

One of the big brands in the current music industry is Crosley Radio. The company is one of the big turntable brands, there are especially known for there vintage record players. The company has always been his innovation and new consumer products.

crosley radioIn the second decade of the 20th century, the radio was not a common product. Radio’s were sold for around $100, which is more than a month pay. Few people could therefore afford a radio. Till Crosley entered the market with a whole new concept. The personal radio for only $7!

In 1931 Crosley even entered the automobile market, the compact car could run 60 miles with a gallon of patrol and was really a car that reshaped the automobile market.

And than the way we know Crosley by now, the vintage and old-fashioned items. Crosley has become the major seller of vintage turntables and radio’s. With a history of innovation this is an interesting move.

  1. I have a Crosby Unitrad Model 40-S cabinet that was given to me . Someone made an attempt to restore it but did a bad job. The cabinet has great lines and is in fair condition. Would you have any pictures of the model so I may see if I can restore it myself. Thanks
